Diesel Truck
Should i consider buying a diesel truck?
I have done a little research on diesel engines. I know very little however. I live in an environment that stays above 10 Fahrenheit. the vehicle im looking into is an 80’s c10-c30. I’ve seen great gas mileage and lots of low end torque. I pull loads around 5 tons and my gas c10 doesn’t complain but Im finding that my trips could be made cheaper through a diesel powered truck
Actually diesel fuel is more expensive currently than gasoline. Diesel trucks cost more to service and maintain. Diesel does have more pulling torque. You have to ask yourself…do you really need a 3/4 ton or 1 ton diesel? The old 80’s diesels were essentially converted gasoline engines. They didn’t have much power and they were very troublesome. If I were to buy a diesel pick up it would be one that is 10 years or less old. The ones from the early 80’s were mostly junk.
